Responsibilities*
The project manager role will be split between two different but closely related functions - providing project oversight for both MDiabetes, and the Clinical Diabetes Programs of the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology & Diabetes (MEND).

In support of these programs, this role will manage the administrative, planning and operational activities. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Analyze data and act on it as appropriate, and regularly review adequacy of processes to assure compliance with UMMG operational principles.
  • Lead the development and delivery of diabetes patient-centered programs and services, iteratively stimulating and evaluating clinical redesign.
  • Support Diabetes related QI projects and assure compliance with UMHS Continuous Quality Improvement and Safety Programs.
  • Resolve issues concerning staffing and utilization of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Work with respective departments to coordinate education efforts, and to implement these programs.
  • Attend appropriate meetings with ACU administrative team.
  • Identify opportunities to iteratively improve efficiency.
  • Maintain effective, collaborative relationships with other ACUs, Divisions and Departments.
  • Coordinate efforts for certification and accreditation
  • Work with MiChart and QMP to Implement application changes to improve efficiency
  • Organize major program, strategic planning, and development activities consistent with MEND, MDiabetes and UMHS mission goals, and institutional objectives and in partnership with the ACU leadership team.

Required Qualifications*
Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in project management, preferably in ambulatory care.
  • Demonstrated effective communication, problem solving skills and customer service approach are required.
  • Experience in project management with excellent time management and relationship building skills are necessary
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required
  • Self-starter with a desire to work independently and responsibly
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Knowledge of and ability to use computer applications
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures
  • Analytical and reporting experience preferred
  • Experience utilizing continuous process improvement methodologies (Lean or Six Sigma) to improve work processes and sustain solutions
  • Proven success in management/administrative roles

Desired Qualifications*

-Experience with diabetes technology and awareness of trends in the diabetes community

-Track record in change management

-Track record of successful coordination between multiple stakeholders in various departments
