About the Position:
The California State University Project Rebound Consortium is a state- and grant-funded network of programs operating at CSU campuses in Bakersfield, East Bay, Fresno, Fullerton, Humboldt, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Northridge, Pomona, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Marcos, and Stanislaus. The mission of the Consortium is to support the higher education and successful reintegration of the formerly incarcerated. Project Rebound constructs a life-affirming alternative to the revolving door policies of mass incarceration by making higher education more accessible and supportive of formerly incarcerated students so that they can acquire the knowledge and skills of a university education, enhance their capacity for civic engagement and community leadership, secure meaningful and gratifying employment, empower themselves and their families, and ultimately make stronger, safer communities. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Project Rebound Administrative Support Coordinator II. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Reporting to the Chair of the Consortium, the Administrative Support Coordinator II provides administrative and operational support for the CSU Project Rebound Consortium headquartered at Cal State Fullerton. Under minimal supervision, coordinates the day-to-day operational support for the consortium. Liaises with the 15 Project Rebound campuses within the CSU system concerning Consortium matters. Coordinates the collection of reports and data, and summarizes information for reporting purposes. Independently makes decisions on day-to-day operations regarding projects and priorities. Evaluates, analyzes, and recommends on operational and process improvements and recommends solutions. Interacts with a variety of on-campus and off-campus individuals and departments, using sound judgment and effective interpersonal communication skills. Understand, interpret, and communicate procedures, policies, and information. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse academic community. Coordinates the logistics of a variety of special events and activities including preparing agendas, scheduling workshops/meetings and travel, both locally and across the consortium. Coordinates and processes personnel transactions both state-side and auxiliary, oversees payroll processes including student assistant and work study payroll; leads and trains student assistants including assigning and monitoring their work. Monitors and tracks office expenses, including purchase requisitions, expense claims, procurement card reconciliations, check requests and other financial and transactional documents. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:
High School diploma or the equivalent and five years of progressively responsible experience in general office, clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent. Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Thorough mastery of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Expertise in using office software packages, technology, and systems. Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects. Ability to independently interpret and apply policies and procedures and use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist. Ability to troubleshoot most office administration problems and respond to all inquiries and requests related to work area. Ability to understand problems from a broad perspective and anticipate the impact of office administration problems and solutions on other areas. Ability to analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions. Ability to perform business math, analyze budgetary data, and make accurate projections requiring some inference. Ability to effectively write and present own reports. Ability to effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels including highly sensitive interpersonal situations. Ability to use negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve results and expedite projects.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university highly preferred but not required if the applicant has significant, progressively responsible work experience relevant to the position. Lead experience preferred. Knowledgeable of California State University systems, policies and procedures as well as University/Auxiliary financial, procurement, and logistics policies; this includes, but is not limited to, the CSU Conflict of Interest Handbook, the CSU Travel Procedures, the CSUF Hospitality Policy, and the Procurement Card (P-Card) program; when necessary, inform students and staff of these policies, especially when asked to perform work that may be counter to these policies. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the CSU Project Rebound Consortium Mission, Vision, Guiding Values, and Goals. Experience working with formerly incarcerated people. Ability to maintain and update Consortium webpage.
