The Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for an Assistant Project Scientist position. Montell lab at University of California is seeking an experienced cell and developmental biologist to carry out both independent and collaborative research projects to study the effects of the GTPase Rac on cell behavior in Drosophila and mammalian cells. The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and services as appropriate to the position.

Basic Qualifications for this position require a PhD in Cell Biology and Developmental Genetics and 5 years of postdoctoral experience at the time of application.

Preferred Qualifications for this position require deep expertise in classical and modern (CRISPR) Drosophila genetics, egg chamber dissections, confocal microscopy, quantitative image analysis including in vivo FRET, mammalian tissue culture, lentivral infections, molecular cloning, phagocytosis assays.
