The First-generation and Multicultural (FaM) Project Manager will provide support in major aspects of the program related to direct student support, recruitment, retention efforts, employer relations, alumni relations, and more. In collaboration with the FaM Director, FaM Program Manager, the Administrative Associate Dean of Student Success, and other Student Success Directors, this position will provide engaging, impactful, and equity-centered student support services to enhance student engagement and degree completion.

Additionally, this position will develop and promote outreach and engagement activities for prospective FaM students and FaM alumni through in-person, remote, and social media outlets while networking and collaborating with internal and external constituents, including FaM students' families, prospective students, alumni, faculty, staff, and industry partners.

FaM Project Manager

What you will do:

Project Management, Recruitment, Student Support, Outreach
  • Assist the Executive Director of FaM in the delivery of high touch and equity minded services to its student participants and their communities.
  • Demonstrate active involvement with student recruitment, retention efforts, workshop development, and social media while working with academic and student support partners in the Business School and across the CU Denver campus.
  • Maintain and serve as the primary support for FaM projects, program pilots, or sub-initiatives developed by the Executive Director.
  • Work with FaM partners to research industry best practices, emerging trends, and academic literature to help inform effective industry collaborations, address needs, and support student career readiness.

Administration, Technology, and Brand Strategy
  • Manage social media accounts and e-newsletters for alumni and/or employer partners.
  • Track FaM engagement through social media and other outlets to work toward optimizing effectiveness communication and brand strategies.
  • Assist the Executive Director in conducting effective and equitable processes to enhance communication and socialization of the FaM brand to employers, alumni, current students and families while ensuring diversity, equity, and inclusion in all areas of work.
  • Act as a resource for students, faculty, staff, and employers regarding FaM matters.

Data Collection and Record-keeping
  • Collect data around student internship/job placement, employer, and industry and alumni engagement and support.
  • Organize and maintain files, documents, and manuals relevant to FaM projects and initiatives and Student Success efforts.

Additional Responsibilities as Assigned
  • Participate in various committees, professional development, industry conferences, and conventions to enhance understanding of DE&I efforts and outcomes.

Qualifications you must already possess (Minimum Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field related to Business, Counseling, Health Administration, Higher Education, or Social Sciences.
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience working with diverse communities, employers, or industry representatives.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Master's degree or terminal degree in a field related to Business, Counseling, Health Administration, Higher Education, or Social Sciences.
  • Four (4) or more years of professional level experience working with a diverse undergraduate student population in a high school or higher education setting.
  • Experience building and delivering workshops.
  • Experience effectively delivering mental health, counseling services, or financial services.
  • Demonstrated success in program support or project development.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to providing outstanding customer service skills.
  • Exhibit a profound understanding of diverse perspectives and a dedication to fostering fair practices..
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Ability to perform duties independently without guidance and direction from other professionals.
  • Ability to articulate the University's mission and the importance of the strategic plan
  • Ability to manage ambiguous situations and/or information and translate them into results.
  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional management and leadership qualities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively plan and establish program goals and objectives.

Conditions of Employment

Occasional work during the evening and/or weekends may be required. This position follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $64,730 - $67,960.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
