About the Opportunity:
The Assistant Director of Project Management leads a team responsible for supporting overall general project management for multiple complex cross-collaborative projects for Enrollment Management including the execution of creative, digital, technological, and strategic work that drives a broad portfolio of learning products between undergraduate, graduate, professional and doctorate-level programs. The Project Management Team works closely with EM leadership to support strategy-, technology- & process-evolution projects while supporting stakeholders in defining project charters, schedules and budgets and overseeing the entire project lifecycle to deliver comprehensive solutions.

As the Assistant Director, not only will you manage a team of project managers, but you will also carry a portfolio of projects which will require the need to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions, identify risks and recommend solutions. This job requires strong analytical and technical abilities and demands fast, but carefully thought-out results to guide the team to meet project goals and deliver high quality work. The job requires learning and understanding of the business, a proactive approach to business needs, and a factual, direct style of communication and significant self-discipline with attention to detail. There is a strong demand for high quality, organized and repeatable results. The responsibilities are broad in scope, encompassing a wide variety of activities requiring rapid shifts in priorities, self-accountability and perseverance.

This position requires confidence, self-discipline, a sense of urgency, and the ability to be innovative, make decisions and take responsibility for them. This role has oversight and responsibility for the effectiveness of project management within Enrollment Management, including but not limited to overseeing budgets, contracts and vendor management. Previous management of a team of direct reports is required.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, or related field along with 7-10 years of project management experience.
  • Advanced degree preferred and/or strong demonstration of an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional training in project management.
  • Able to lead cross functionally with a strong understanding of the steps and processes involved in managing and completing a wide variety of enrollment management projects (i.e., digital, print, web, email, events, video, and more) while maintaining a sense of operational priorities.
  • Experience managing projects within teams responsible for creating complex cross-channel marketing campaigns including marketing, technology, automation software, and more.
  • Keen knowledge of operations, administration, and efficient process development.
  • Experience implementing and managing project management and resourcing tools.
  • Experience with Workfront, Smartsheets, and other leading project management tools is a plus.
  • Proven track record of training, supervising and mentoring direct reports.
  • Ability to determine and report priorities/metrics to senior management.
  • Flexible and proactive, with positive attitude, highly self-motivated, and calm under pressure.
  • Can work independently and is able to prioritize.
  • Excellent written, communication and presentation skills. Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
